Ladies Finger @ Okra Stir Fry With Turmeric Powder Recipe

Ladies Finger @ Okra stir fry with turmeric powder recipe. As I have mentioned before that I will write few articles on the usage of turmeric powder, here is the 1st recipe which includes Okra and turmeric powder.

Ingredients

  • 200 grams Ladies Finger @ Okra cut in round shapes and 4mm width
  • ½ teaspoon Black mustard seeds
  • ½ teaspoon White Urad dhal
  • 2 dried chilies cut into small pieces
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric cooking powder
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil
  • ½ teaspoon powdered cumin seed
  • Salt to taste

Method

Heat up the frying pan in medium heat and pour in cooking oil. Add in black mustard seeds and white urad dhal into the frying pan. Ensure that you don’t accidentally drop water in the pan else the hot oil will sprinkle out of the frying pan. Then add in ladies finger and stir it in the frying pan till the ladies finger mucilage is reduced.

Then add in dried chillies into the pan and stir. While stirring, sprinkle salt and turmeric powder into the frying pan. Finally add in the powdered cumin seed and stir.

Suggestion
To retain most of okra’s nutrients and self-digesting enzymes, it should be cooked as little as possible. You can substitute long beans for okra and cook the same way.
