I am glad to write about one of my favourite vegan celebrity Ellen DeGeneres whom is an animal rights person too.
A little background about Ellen
Ellen DeGeneres was born in Metairie, Louisiana, a suburb of New Orleans in United States of America.
Ellen DeGeneres graduated from Atlanta High School in 1976. Ellen attended the University of New Orleans as a communication major but was not able to finish the course. She did a variety of jobs until she turned to stand-up comedy.
Ellen has made a name for herself as a host of awards shows. She hosted the Grammy Awards in 1996 and 1997, as well as the Prime-time Emmy Awards in 2001 and 2005. Ellen
is the second woman to host the Oscars on her own besides Whoopi Goldberg whom was the first.
The Ellen DeGeneres Show proved to be both a hit and a commercial success. Along with good ratings, the show has won 15 Emmy Awards in its first three seasons on the

Ellen has quit smoking cigarettes using the Allen Carr method.
Vegan celebrity and animal right
Ellen DeGeneres became vegan celebrity in 2010 and her partner De Rossi is a vegan as well. Ellen also co-ordinates a vegan outreach website titled ‘Going Vegan with Ellen’ and
features vegan recipes.

Ellen is also an animal rights person with PETA named her their “Woman of the Year” for 2009.
Ellen served as campaign ambassador to Farm Sanctuary’s Adopt-A-Turkey Project in 2010, asking people to start “a new tradition by adopting a turkey instead of eating
one” at Thanksgiving. She is an animal advocate and co-owner of “Halo” too.
