Can Pregnant women eat Tamarind Rice?

Yes they can eat, but too much of Tamarind is not adviceable for Pregnant women. It will reduce blood flow and affect blood supply for baby. Tamarind Rice is widely consumed by South Indians and it is a vegetarian dish. Tamarind Rice Recipe will be suitable for lunch.

Ingredients:
1 Cup Rice     
2 Cups Water               
300 gms Tamarind
1/4 Cup Coriander seeds
3 Dried Red chillies – Cut into 3 pieces        
Salt to taste
1 Teaspoon Mustard Seeds    
1 Teaspoon Urad Dhal
2 Stem Curry Leaves
3 Tablespoon Cooking Oil
 
Method:
Cook the rice and let it cool down. Soak Tamarind in water extract the juice. Heat pan with cooking oil and add mustard seeds, urad dhal, curry leaves and dried chillies. Pour in the tamarind juice and stir. Dry fry Coriander seeds and grind to powder. Add the powder into the tamarind juice and let it boil slightly. Finally, mix rice with the tamarind gravy in a bowl and include 1 teaspoon of Ghee or Clarified Butter for Aroma smell.
