Type of Vegetable Groups

Have you ever wondered what the types of vegetable groups are? How do you classify tomato? Is it a fruit or vegetable? Garlic is herb or vegetable? I am sure that you are searching for answers like me too. Here are some of the Vegetable groups for your reference.

Bulb Vegetables
– This usually grows like clove or bulbs. For example, Chives, Onions, Leeks, Garlic and Shallots are categorized as bulb vegetables.

Fruit Vegetables
– Fruit vegetables can be found in all sorts of shapes and colours. For example, Cucumber, Zucchini, Okra, Eggplant, Tomatoes, Tomatillos and Squash.

Inflorescent Vegetables
– This vegetables are made up of many small bunches. For example, Cauliflower and Broccoli.

Leaf Vegetables
– This is the normal vegetable type almost everyone knows. For example, Kale, Spinach, Lettuce, Purslane and Sorrel.

– Root vegetable group usually grows underground. For example, Beets, Turnips, Carrots, Parsnips and Radishes.

– Stalk vegetable group usually grows above the ground. For example, Asparagus, Celery, Chard and Bamboo.

Tuber Vegetable
– Tuber vegetable group is famous in our daily consumption. For example, Potatoes, Taro, Yam and Sweet Potato.
